Two of Ideal Concepts Inc.'s scholarship recipients recently visited the Allentown offices. Ideal Concepts launched an annual donation of $10,000 to Coventry Christian Schools last year. Done in conjunction with partner American Better Health Organization (ABHO), the donation established a yearly scholarship to supplement students’ tuition costs at the local private school.
The ABHO Educational Scholarship is awarded annually to financially disadvantaged students who, because of their drive and self-motivation, deserve to take advantage of opportunities to get a better education. The chosen students excel academically, are a leader among their peers, and show a strong determination to succeed.
Requirements include:
- Minimum GPA of 3.5.
- Demonstrated need for financial assistance.
- Intent to enroll at an accredited higher education institution upon graduation.
- Ability to demonstrate future goals and plans to achieve them.
With this scholarship, Ideal Concepts and ABHO hope to help students achieve their dreams of obtaining a college-preparatory education that they may not have received at their previous school. We expect selected students to take advantage of the outstanding academic education at Coventry Christian Schools to work towards their goal of attending college and becoming a successful professional in their chosen field.
The recent recipients visited the Ideal Concepts' offices with the head of Coventry Christian Schools, John Niehls. Incoming senior Sophie W. and incoming sophomore David W. toured the Allentown office and had lunch with Ideal Concepts President John Pequeno and Business Development Specialist Alisha Leavelle. John was impressed by the students, saying, "It was great getting a chance to meet Sophie and David! They're both engaging, well-rounded, and dynamic teens with bright futures ahead of them," he says. "I'm proud that Ideal Concepts is able to contribute to their education, and I look forward to seeing where education takes both Sophie and David."
Sophie is planning a career in math or medicine, while David is considering a pursuing something related to technology. He got the chance to chat with a few of the companies' young engineers, and Sophie discussed local universities she may soon be applying to with alumni on Ideal Concepts' staff.
